Both sites are situated at approximately the same height above sea level so as to facilitate the movement of water into the distribution system. The treatment works at Handois are supplied directly from Handois Storage Reservoir. The reservoir acts as a collecting point for water pumped directly from other reservoirs and raw water sources and collected in the catchment area.
